Current Position :

Supported Living Manager

Qualifications completed with CCS :

NCFE level 2 medication, First aid at work, GMAP training, supervision and appraisal, currently completing my NVQ Level 5 in leadership and management.

Background of Journey with CSS :

I started as a part time HR assistant in Sept 13 whilst completing my undergraduate degree and enjoyed the role extremely. However, as I was coming closer to the end I wanted to do something closer to my degree so applied for a sessional support worker on the care leavers side and got the role in Dec 14. I enjoyed the variety of individuals and the different staffing teams and decided following the end of my degree I would apply for a full time position as a support worker in May 16. I got the role however one of the SLM’s left the organisation around the same time and it was advertised internally as well as externally and I thought why not? I’m so glad I did as I got the role and have enjoyed the demands of the role and the responsibility the role brings.

Favourite things about working with CSS :

The progression within the organisation and how dedicated the organisation is to develop people’s skills and attributes with various training and opportunities available.

Quotes from Inspection Reports

‘The views, wishes and feelings of young people are central to the day-to-day running of the home. Key-work sessions and young people’s meetings take place regularly and allow young people to discuss all aspects of the home, their care, and individual issues relating to them.‘
